In any visual image — photograph, video — you see of landfills, mattresses are everywhere. Surely there must be a better way. Apparently there is!
As a result of a request on a local Ottawa freecycling group, one of the members did a bit of research and found this Montreal based company that recycles mattresses. MattCanada now has a US plant in Frederick, MD.
The mattress recycling program that MattCanada offers has been so successful that even foreign governments have asked MattCanada to help them with their ever-increasing mattress problem.

MattCanada is a Montreal, Canada based recycling company that was founded after research was done on mattress manufacturing and retail.
The huge impact discarded mattresses had on the environment was then realized. After landfills were included into this research, it was decided that something had to be done to rectify the growing problem.
